BUSINESS SERVICES OF NON-LIFE
INSURANCE PLAYERS –A FOCUS ON CUSTOMERS’ PERCEPTION
Insurance business has undergone many changes and challenges
first, in the context of nationalization since 1973 and later, during post
liberalization since 1992. The IRDA which came in to force by the turn of the
century, also gave a differential shape and scope for insurance business in
India. IRDA paved a way for many private players to start their operations
competing with the existing government players. This has resulted in manifold
increase in the insurance business in India.
Private players are leaving no stone unturned to consolidate
their base and enhance their market share. In the light of growing competition
with private players, public sector players like National Insurance, New India
Assurance, United India and Oriental Insurance Companies had to introduce
innovative, customer friendly products to lure the customers and maintain their
market standing. This book throws insights into the sales and market share, the
status and growth orientation of insurance companies in public sector
especially general insurance companies.
