Children's growth responds to circumstances of their lives.
Nutritional, ecological and even psychosocial factors have a profound effect on
their growth pattern. In India, several
studies have been conducted on growth trends, most of them focused on preschool
children and it is important to note that no extensive growth study was under
taken on many tribal populations of Andhra Pradesh. The present study was
intended to understand the growth pattern of Gadaba and Savara, two most
primitive tribal populations of Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts of Andhra
Pradesh, India.
